A movie which has a message...

There are three kinds of people in this world...One- Those who would die screaming...Two- Those who would die silent and 3- those who would die laughing...

This is not the main message of the movie Rang de Basanti. A movie picturising the current scenario in our country. It speaks about the MIG crashes that are growing in number in our country. India has been importing MIGs since 1964 and have been of great use to our nation in times of war and to protect the country. But over the last 15 yrs, 78 young pilots have died due to the MIG crashes. Why is all this happening???

Is this the price we need to pay for the corruption in our government??? Russian officials bribe the Indians to buy low quality MIGs and this has led to the failure of these fighter planes. Indians to succumb to these "filthy" scums.

The movie draws parallels between the age of the Britishers and the current situation in India.
Only difference is that the Britishers are in the guise of our very own politicians. This issue has come into light(the MIG crashes) because not too long ago, a mother of a pilot who lost his life due to one of these crashes tool the issue to the Supreme Court. The politicians had to answer to the problem and could only say "The pilot did not know how to handle the MIG and was inexperienced". On the contrary, the pilot was a gold medalist in training and this case caused in uproar in the whole Defence department and India stopped purchasing MIGs from the same dealer again.

In the end, there was only one way to put a stop to this "dhamaka" and nonsense goin on. The youth had to use violence. The movie ended with a very strong message. No country is perfect. All countries have their own problems and they can be resolved only if we all unite against it. MIG crashes aren`t things that can be taken lightly. Pilots risk their lives to fight for the country and should they die this way? And because our country knowingly buy poor-quality planes??? Our politicans are corrupt no doubt, but just letting them be the way they are is not going to get us or our country anywhere in the future.

So go and watch the movie. A real good one with great performances from Sidharth(In my feelin, the main actor) and Madhavan(though he jus does a cameo but without him, there is no film) and as usual, Aamir Khan. The only thing that is a sad thing in the movie is that all the beautiful songs composed by A.R.Rahman have been TOTALLY and mark my wrds totally spoilt and none of the songs even come fully in the movie. So listen to all the songs properly b4 watching the movie because you just dont fell like hearing them after watchin the movie.

Go catch the movie at Six Degress(where i watched it) or at Mayajaal(4 shows and 8 shows respectively) and till then, its me signing off.

As always,

Monty
