Sriram,
Dude/macha/dey if you like some sport, promote it...if you don't like some sport, don't malign it. ust shut up, cause there's others out there who's lives are incomplete without it, including your's truly. There are some commited fans out there who'd stay up to watch F1 and A1GP at 3 am on the eve of a board exam.
About blogs, each one to his own.

Prad,
of course he can say something other than 'update ur blog':::
"USELESS BORING SHIT"

Arun Rajan,
I agree.

Monty,
It's not me posting as Arun.

God,
Hope enxt week's race is as good as this one.

The rules is everything, Cause that's what decides the outcome of the race. The teams get two sessions on friday and one session on saturday for PRACTICE ALONE. Each session is one hour long. On the two friday sessions, the teams, who ended the season below fourth place in 2005 are allowed to run a third car. However, they must keep in mind that each engine must run for two race weekends and that they have only seven sets of tyres per car per race weekend.
Therefore, tis the rules which determine how many laps each driver gets of practice before quali and therefore how fast they are on a particular track. THe data that the teams get is also down to the preciopus practice laps that the teams puit in on friday.
But, the teams can't do too many laps on friday either, because if they overrun their engine and they have to change it, they might lose 10 places on the grid, or worse it might fail durin gthe race.
The 'no-changing-tyres-during-the-race' rule last year decided the championship in 2005.

And more to support the argument that rules are improtant from an obsever's point of view in F1:

1. Ever wondered why Ferrari, six times continuously (1999-2004) world champions, didn't fare well in 2005, while McLaren and Renault and Toyota sturck gold?
A. Because of a rule that was introuduced for 2005 according to which driver's were not allowed to change tyres in the race.
Hint: If you still haven't got it, Ferrari run bridgestone tyres while McLaren, Renault, et run Michelin. Guess which tyre-manufacturer got it right...

2. Ever wondered why David Coulthard, such a talented driver, started giving slow, lacklustre, mind-numbing performances after 2001?
Hint - It has something to do with the introduction of one-lap qualifying, which many drivers found it difficult to adapt to.

3. Ever wondered why Kimi raikkonen, the fastest currently in F1, after winning the same no, of races as Alonso last year, lost out to him?
A.
(i)Nurburgring GP 2005 - Raikkonen locks up his tyres while overtaking Jacques villeneuve after a pitstop. This flat-spots his tyres. That means that for every revolutiion the tyres make, immense vibrations are sent throughout the car. Guess what? The McLaren oes 19000 revolutions per minute on the straight. It's a wonder that the finn can even see. End result: Kimi, race leader, suffers a front-right suspension failure, sending him crashing into the barriers at turn one.

(ii) In 2005, The FIA introduced a new rule which stated that engines must last for two races. Replacing an engine within the two-race limit meant forfeiting ten places on the grid in the next race. Raikkonen had to start TEN PLACES down the grid for Britain, France and Canada last year.

SEE HOW IMPORTANT THE RULES ARE?
